Ann Marie, aka "the artsy one," is the fourth of seven siblings originally from Omaha, but now living the life in New Jersey. She spent a long and busy career as a graphic designer while raising three artsy kids of her own. (Apples and trees.) The very same week that two of her kids graduated from famous art universities in New York City, Ann Marie embraced an unexpected opportunity to set her laptop aside and return to her happy place: making art with her bare hands, just like she did when she was in art school in the big 80s.

Ann Marie is a mixed media artist who works in the Bauhaus tradition of crafting art which is intrinsically whimsical and functional, often using recycled, handmade, or re-purposed materials. A natural problem solver, she is forever in search of the a-ha! as she paints, rips, twists, glues, and re-imagines her art into existence.

 

Recently, Rezen has been exploring "painting with paper", mixed media collages fashioned out of scraps of memorabilia, altered books, ephemera, hand-painted papers and tissues.
